The railway station, designed by Arseniusz Romanowicz and Piotr Szymaniak, was put into use in 1975 and very quickly became one of the symbols of Warsaw and an icon of modernism. Today, Dworzec inspires graphic designers, designers and artists. The station building is an impressive body with a considerable cubature of 599,996 cubic meters. The main hall of the station was already a space for auctions, joint reading of books and the Grand Press Photo exhibition. It was visited as part of the museum night and a time machine landed there. After years of neglect, it is also appreciated by passengers. After the renovation completed in 2010, the station welcomed them with a modern information system, spacious shopping arcades and elegant service premises.
Central Railway Station Stanisława Moniuszki is situated in the very center of the city, at the junction of Al. Jerozolimskie and al. John Paul II. Nearby, there is the Centrum Metro station, Warszawa Śródmieście Suburban Railway Station as well as numerous tram and bus stops, making it an excellent transfer junction. The station building offers a wide range of commercial and service facilities, and moreover, it is adjacent to the Złote Tarasy shopping center. There are hotels, restaurants and cafes in the area.
Railway information (PKP Intercity) is located on the main hall level, in window 1 and is open 24 hours a day.
The PKP Intercity Customer Service Center is located on the main hall level and is open from 9: 10-20: 30.
The City Tourist Information is located in the Palace of Culture and Science, pl. Defilad 1 (entrance from ul. Emilii Plater), open from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm , info@go2warsaw.pl , www.go2warsaw.pl
